Artist's Description
This is a pastel/mixed media illustration/collage of Americana part lll, third in the Americana Series. The painting shows a little slice of American suburban life and the styles, cars and appliances that were around after World War ll ended, when the famous "baby boom" began and kids played in the yard without fear.
About Mary Fanning
Mary Fanning was born an artist. She grew up in New Jersey and wrote and illustrated books and cards since the time she was seven years old. She graduated with a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, where she further developed her unique, soulful style. Mary strongly believes that all art should be God-inspired, sometimes simply beautiful and other times with deeper meaning, but always God-inspired. Her art is a reflection of her core values and beliefs and the search for truth, meaning and beauty in a world gone mad.
